🏐 Match Report: Pennthorpe Teachers vs. Pennthorpe Eagles (Parents Team)

Under glorious sunshine on Monday 16th June, the Pennthorpe netball court played host to a spirited clash between two determined sides: the ever-enthusiastic Pennthorpe Teachers and the fired-up parent squad, the Pennthorpe Eagles. What followed was a brilliant blend of athleticism, laughter, and a whole lot of community spirit.
From the opening whistle, the match delivered high-energy action and plenty of good-natured banter. Both teams found their rhythm early in Quarter 1, trading goals in quick succession. By the first break, the Eagles had edged ahead with a narrow 8–7 lead.
Quarter 2 saw the tempo remain high, with slick passing and sharp shooting at both ends. The teachers fought back with grit and determination, but the Eagles maintained their slender advantage, heading into halftime 12–11 in front.
As the sun blazed on, so did the action. Quarter 3 was fiercely contested. The Eagles’ attack found their flow, delivering pinpoint shots, while their defence stayed rock-solid under pressure. The teachers responded with fast breaks, clever interceptions, and tireless teamwork, but the parents held onto a 17–15 lead going into the final quarter.
The last quarter saw the Eagles hit their stride. With fluid team play and clinical finishing from the shooters, they extended their lead. The teachers battled to the very end, never letting their heads drop, but the Eagles sealed a well-earned 26–20 victory.
