Our Pennthorpe Prefects are excited to announce their upcoming Charity Day on Thursday, 30th January, in support of Mane Chance, the Prefects’ chosen charity for this year. This is a fantastic opportunity for the entire Pennthorpe community to come together, have fun, and make a difference!

Why Mane Chance?

The Prefects have selected Mane Chance because of the incredible work they do to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned, and elderly horses, giving them a second chance at life. But Mane Chance doesn’t just help horses—they also provide vital therapy sessions for young people in the community, offering emotional support and building confidence through meaningful connections with their horses.

Hats for Horses

To celebrate and raise funds, we are inviting all children to take part in our ‘Hats for Horses’ event. Simply wear your favourite hat or headpiece to school on the day and bring a £1 donation to support this wonderful cause. Whether it’s a cowboy hat, a fancy fascinator, or a homemade creation, we can’t wait to see your creativity on display!

Donations can be made in cash on the day or here. There will be QR codes on the posters that will be posted around the school for added convenience.

Fun-Filled Activities

In addition to donning hats, our Prefects have planned an exciting line-up of horse-themed activities to make the day extra special, including:

Hobby Horse Jump Course: Test your jumping skills on our fun-filled obstacle course!
Pin the Tail on the Horse: A classic game with a horsey twist!
‘Lasso’ Throwing: Channel your inner cowboy or cowgirl and give it a try.

This Charity Day is more than just a fun event; it’s an opportunity to support an organisation that makes a tangible difference in the lives of both horses and people.
