Tom’s Studio has recently launched a new product, the Wren Write Off—a pen made entirely from recycled pens.
A Bit More About the Wren – Write Off Pen
Meet the Wren – Write Off: an infinitely refillable pen giving disposable pens a second life. With an estimated 9 billion disposable pens discarded globally each year, this project aims to tackle a serious environmental issue. After years of designing pens meant to last a lifetime, the creators at Tom’s Studio set out to close the loop by repurposing waste plastic into something beautiful and functional.
In collaboration with Brothers Make, each pen lid is crafted from recycled stationery waste collected from schools and organisations. The plastic is chipped, injection-moulded, and hand-finished—making every lid a unique piece of craftsmanship.
The Wren – Write Off isn’t just a pen; it’s a creative stand against waste.
How You Can Help
We’re supporting this initiative by collecting used felt tip pens and whiteboard markers. If your child has any dried-out pens at home, please send them in. Mrs Tso (Caterpillar Class) is coordinating the collection before the pens are sent off to be recycled.
Thank you for helping us reduce school waste and protect our planet—one pen at a time.
