This coming June, Mr Mac is lacing up his hiking boots once again to take on the South Coast Mighty Hike, a gruelling yet rewarding challenge in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. This marks his third attempt at the hike, and his determination is as strong as ever.
Cancer continues to touch all of our lives in profound ways. It’s a disease that claims approximately one in four lives in the UK, and Mr Mac’s own family has felt its impact deeply. Over the past year, friends and colleagues have also faced heartbreaking losses.
This hike is more than just a physical challenge—it’s a tribute; Mr Mac will walk in memory of loved ones, friends, and the many individuals he has worked with over the past 20 years who have lost their lives to cancer.
The goal is to raise £250, which is enough to fund a Macmillan Nurse for an entire day. These incredible nurses provide vital medical, practical, and emotional support to people living with cancer and their families. With over 3 million people in the UK currently living with cancer, the need for Macmillan’s services is greater than ever.
Whether you can donate, share his story, or simply send words of encouragement, every bit of support makes a difference.
The generosity in donations over the last two years has been incredible and has contributed to Macmillan’s remarkable work. If, once again, people feel able to donate to support our very own superhero, the JustGiving link can be found here.
