What an incredibly busy and exciting week it has been for all of Reception! The children have been immersed in learning about Chinese New Year, exploring its rich traditions and fascinating stories. They discovered that they were either born in the Year of the Pig or the Year of the Rat and were captivated by the tale of the Great Race, where the clever Rat emerged victorious.

To celebrate, the children engaged in a variety of activities, from crafting decorations to learning about traditional customs. They were eager to share their newfound knowledge and enjoyed taking part in discussions about the significance of the Lunar New Year.

Last Friday, the children celebrated their favourite traditional tales. The children arrived dressed as beloved storybook characters, filling the classroom with knights, princesses, and fairy tale creatures. They had the opportunity to design their very own shields, showcasing their creativity and imagination. One of the most thrilling moments of the day was the daring rescue of Rapunzel from her tower, as the children worked together to devise inventive ways to bring her safely to the ground.

To top off this enchanting day, the children also learned the art of having tea with the King, practicing their best manners and etiquette while enjoying a delightful tea party fit for royalty.

It has been a truly magical week, filled with learning, creativity, and joy!
