As the children learned about the sound ‘p’, they were delighted to welcome their very own Beehive parent pilot. Mrs. Bowden joined the class for a phonics session, and it was clear she was impressed by the fantastic progress the children had made in identifying initial sounds. She shared insights about flying a plane, and the children asked some fantastic questions.

This week, the focus shifted to the sound ‘g’. Throughout the week, some of the Beehive children led their own phonics session. They began by revising the sounds they had already learned, then selected a peer to come up and choose an item that started with the sound of the day. Each child embraced their role as Peni with great enthusiasm. The children even had the opportunity to taste a gherkin, and some of them loved it! The progress they’ve made in blending individual sounds into words has truly impressed everyone.
