We're absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted by the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2021 for our pupil wellbeing programmes and initiatives.

We’re absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted by the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2021 for our pupil wellbeing programmes and initiatives.

Our ethos is that happiness breeds success, and therefore happiness and wellbeing is our holy grail! We believe that a school where everyone in the community feels valued and secure, will inspire creative minds!

We’ve been recognised due to our bespoke wellbeing curriculum, made up of our Roots, Shoots and RISE programmes, which focus on developing the mental and emotional robustness of our children. Features include our dedicated wellbeing space (The Retreat), personal coaching, daily reflection, Tissues & Issues, regular mindfulness and meditation, and our Pennthorpe Pulse (musings and advice on topical issues). Our annual Wellbeing Week focuses on our entire community (parents and staff are important too!), and our termly Happiness Tracker measures our success, as well as gives early warning signs of downwards trends which are then targeted with early intervention.
