They worked in groups to grid out their dig sites and carefully excavate any artefacts they could find. They had to work very carefully as they knew some of the artefacts could be hundreds of years old. After they had excavated and cleaned off their artefacts, they discussed what they might be, when they might be from and what they could have been used for. They then had to fill out a report of what they found, just like real archaeologists would do after a dig.

Dylan enjoyed himself so much he has decided he might like to be an archaeologist when he grows up!
