There is something magical about a day at the beach, and our recent seaside outing gave us just that – Nursery and Reception pupils had a chance to play, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors together.

We began with a morning of simple seaside pleasures. Buckets and spades in hand, pupils dug happily in the sand, built makeshift castles, and hunted for shells along the shoreline. The tide was kind to us, shallow enough for paddling, yet wild enough to splash and laugh as the waves rolled in. For some, the highlight was simply feeling the cold water between their toes; for others, it was the thrill of finding the perfect shell or stone to take home.

After a busy morning, we sat down together for a picnic lunch on the beach. There’s something about eating outside that makes everything taste better, even the sandy sandwiches! With full bellies and sun-kissed cheeks, we packed up and took a leisurely walk along the coast to the nearby water sports centre.

There, we were introduced to the exhilarating world of kite surfing. While we did not try it ourselves this time, we learned how it works, watched kite surfers in action, and asked plenty of questions. The size of the kites, the balance needed on the board, and the sheer power of the wind amazed us all. It was a fascinating end to a day that was both fun and full of learning.

This was more than just a day at the beach,  it was a chance to connect with nature, try new things, and share laughter and discovery. We returned home a little sandy, a lot tired, and full of happy memories that will last long after the footprints in the sand have washed away.
