We have some amazing activities and sessions planned for both pupils and parents.
Pupils
Years 1 through 8 will take part in Wellbeing ‘Rocks’, a Gratitude and positive affirmation activity, whilst Honey Pot through to Reception take part in their very own Story time Yoga.
Our Student Wellbeing Ambassadors will be running ‘Hot Chocolate & Talk’ sessions in the Octopod, which you can find out more about here.
There will also be a Mindfulness activity happening in the library at break times.
In the Dining Room, there will be a focus on ‘Food for Mood’, the positive impact of food on wellbeing.
Additionally, staff will be running the below morning wellbeing activities:
- Meditate and relax Monday
- Talk and connect Tuesday
- Workout and energise Wednesday
- Focus and Flow Friday
Parents
Parents are invited to come into the school to attend Morning Wellbeing Tea and Talks from 8:30-9:30am in the library. The talks will be as follows:
- Monday – A journey of wellbeing… Mrs McGregor, Mrs Evans and Mrs Tusler will talk you through how you can support your child’s wellbeing at each stage of their journey.
- Wednesday – Love Languages…Mr McConnell will be discussing the value in identifying our own and your family members’ ‘Love Language’ so we can have truly fulfilling relationships.
- Friday – Emotion Coaching…Dr Gill Talbot will be talking about Emotion Coaching; a parenting technique that helps children understand their feelings. When parents Emotion Coach, their children learn how emotions work and how to react to feelings in healthy ways.
There will also be Make and Take aromatherapy sessions from 8:30-9:30am on Tuesday and Friday. You can come and hear about the benefits of essential oils for wellbeing and leave with your own blend to take away.
Throughout the week there will also be the Daily Pennthorpe Pulse: Wellbeing Soundbites to support positive mental health, which can be found online.
