Supertato told the children that he was visiting Antarctica and therefore, he needed the children to investigate what material would keep him the warmest.
First, they all made a prediction of which material would be most successful. In order to find out if their predication was correct, they carried out an experiment. They wrapped warm potatoes in different materials and placed a thermometer inside. After 2 minutes, they all wrote down the temperatures of each potato to find out which of the materials kept the potato best insulated.
Their results showed that the bubble wrap and tin foil would keep Supertato the warmest. Year 1 loved being scientists again in the lab with Mr Shaw and Mr Price.
