Pre-Prep (2-7 years)

Pre-Prep Sport

As Pre-Prep are part of the whole school, we are fortunate to have access to specialist sports staff, who are on hand to teach even our youngest children. This is a real advantage for our children as they benefit from the expertise and passion of our other teaching staff as well as the incredible facilities we have on site.

From Beehive upwards, children  benefit from our male and female PE staff teaching dance, gymnastics and other sports. The children will start with activities that incorporate listening skills, footwork and balance and these are a good start for the more serious sports that children start to play in Year 2. This is the year children start to develop more specialised skills in games such as football, rugby, cricket, netball and hockey.

A wealth of dance and other sporting activities are available within our Extra-Curricular Activity programme and many Pre-Prep children participate in after school clubs of a sporting nature.

Developing hand-eye coordination: moving a ball around obstacles with a hockey stick

Learning to make fast decisions: fencing is excellent for concentration and focus

Learning about success and failure, and how to handle both gracefully

Developing ball skills with friendly football tournaments

Mastering control of something other than their own movement
