In their Music lesson, they practiced tapping out rhythms, fast and slow and loud and quiet. The rhymes they are learning can be seen below.
They also made Gruffalo (apple) Crumble. They all listened very well to instructions and waited for their turns to add ingredients or to stir the mixture. They chatted about what it felt like when they squashed the butter into the flour mixture. They thought it was ‘cold’, ‘soft’ and ‘sticky’ on their fingers.
The apple had been cooked for a little while to soften it slightly so that they could chop it with their knives. Everybody was very good at being careful and minding their fingers when they chopped the apple. 20 minutes in the oven and the Gruffalo Crumbles will be perfect!
