Year 6 used different separation techniques together with an extraction buffer in order to isolate the DNA from both, a Kiwi fruit, and from raspberries. The techniques involved using a steady hand in order to prevent mixing. They then discussed the possibilities and ethics of Genetic Engineering.
You can see the ‘white halo’ of DNA which was then collected using a ‘paper clip fishing rod’!
