Feedback from the Leadership Team

We’re thrilled with the findings of our EQI, which very much encapsulate the dedication, commitment and sheer hard work of both the pupils and staff. Our exceptional staff team is integral to Pennthorpe’s happy environment; the knowledge, passion, care and diversity of our team creates Pennthorpe’s very exciting atmosphere. We are committed to helping our children be happy, healthy and flourish. This is the foundation upon which academic success is built, and is wonderful to have had corroborated by the Inspectorate.

The Inspectorate’s key findings, when looking at the pupils academic and other achievements were:

  • Pupils attitudes to learning are excellent. As a result, they persevere, are resilient, confident and active learners who involve themselves fully in all they do. 
  • Pupils develop a wide range of skills knowledge and understanding across the curriculum. 
  • Pupils demonstrate excellent communication skills as a result of the excellent teaching and the vast number of opportunities for them to express themselves. 
  • Pupils develop higher order thinking skills and show that they have the ability to analyse, hypothesise and synthesise thus ensuring progress

The key findings, when looking at the pupils’ personal development were:

  • Pupils display an excellent understanding of behavioural expectations and right and wrong 
  • Decision making amongst all pupils is of the highest quality 
  • Pupils show extremely high levels of self-awareness and a continuous commitment to their own personal development 
  • The social development of pupils is excellent proving they are the living embodiment of the school’s motto of “Born not for ourselves alone”.
