In Maths, they started the week sorting 2D shapes into groups, working as Collaborative Crabbies. They then moved on to tens and ones and used the Diennes to help them. Year 1 are now verified place value experts.

In their Spanish lesson, Year 1 have been learning the days of the week. In the photos below, you can see that Year 1 were able to put the days in the correct order. Well done Year 1!

In English, we have been focusing on our senses and using them to describe a carnival.

In topic this week, they learned about the Festival of Holi and made their very own colour festival picture using colourful powder paint. Year 1 had SO much fun!

Lois and Halle were the Forest School camera crew this week and took lots of beautiful photos of their time in the woods.

In Science, they have been learning all about senses, and this week Year 1 focused on sight. They can now name all of the different parts of the eye!

In Art, they are continuing to create their own carnival costumes, making beautiful jewellery with pasta and lots of paint.

We hope you have enjoyed seeing what Year 1 got up to this week. We cannot wait to show you next week where they will be learning all about animals ahead of their trip next Friday to Drusillas.
