At the end of Year 8, at age 13, our pupils move on to a variety of senior independent schools. Because we are day school, most choose schools within the Sussex & Surrey area, where they can continue to attend as day pupils, although quite a few opt for some flexible or weekly boarding. We offer advice and support to parents in helping them make the right choice of senior school for each child.
Our pupils regularly win scholarships to their senior school, some recently achieving the top awards to prestigious schools such as Royal Grammar and Brighton College. Although many of these scholarships are academic, we are just as proud of the pupils who win all-rounder scholarships, where their academic achievement is considered alongside either art, music, sport, performing arts or design technology. Out of a Year 8 year group of approximately 30 each year across two classes, we would normally expect about 15 scholarships per year, although in 2008 we had a particularly strong year group who achieved an astonishing 27 scholarships between them.
We are fortunate to have a wide choice and variety of senior schools in our area. This makes it possible for us to find a school that closely matches the needs and abilities of each individual child.
